We spent the weekend in Virginia to celebrate a friend's retirement/birthday. I was so glad to be down there again, especially on my birthday! On Saturday we went to a Mennonite lady's house (conservative/buggy) who was hosting the celebration for our friends retirement. I haven't seen some of the folks who were there in SUCH a long time! It was lovely. We talked, and talked, and talked... That night we went over to eat supper with some more Mennonites (in VA you're either Mennonite or Baptist). Sunday, we ate breakfast with Carolyn's daughter and her family and then turned around and came home again. Just in time too! It is now blizzarding. They are calling for 5-7 inches of snow with sleet on top. We went to the 7 pm Mass at Holy Family. The Priest celebrating was the rector at the seminary. I love his homilies, because he doesn't beat around the bush. So far, I've heard him preach about vocations (wow!), family/marriage, and tonight, Holy Scripture.
