"...the gaze of the Church is constantly turned to her Lord, present in the Sacrament of the Altar, in which she discovers the FULL manifestantion of His boundless love." Ecclesia de Eucharistia

I didn't post much about Lent...too much happened, but here is something from Good Friday:

I walked into the Church on Good Friday about 45 minutes before the Celebration of Our Lord's Passion. The Church was pretty full, and absolutely silent. Only one voice was heard...a little girl behind me who said "Mama, where is Jesus? Where is Jesus?" The Tabernacle was empty. The Holy Father said in his encyclical on the Eucharist, everyone, whether consciously or unconsciously, yearns for the Eucharist. He is right. One gets the feeling of almost suffocating from the realization the Christ is not Truly Present in the Tabernacle on Good Friday.
I ran into my former religion teacher today at the Archabbey. His ordination is only about 2 months away, and of course he is glowing! Here is something from St. John Vianney on the priesthood that my brother in Christ gave me awhile ago:
“Oh how great is a priest! The priest will not understand the greatness of his office till he is in Heaven. If he understood it on earth, he would die, not of fear, but of love.”
