One more thing before I begin my silence...Angela posted this poem written by an SMME novice about First Profession of Vows. It brought back quite a few memories...enjoy!!

See the Child Approach

See the Child approach the altar
All bride bedecked her heart a'flutter
Parents leading
New Shoes squeaking
And Chestnut bangs 'neath white veil a'peaking

Oh! does she knoe who she's recieving
In that host all sense deceiving:
You the Lord of Lords, her King?

With what love you gaze upon her
Softly now you whisper to her
This your precious bride to be.
Though not yet, but still much later
Will you ask this favor of her
That she give her heart to Thee.
What a patient, stead-fast lover,
You, a groom so far above her,
But will she vow her life to Thee?

Does she know that you are waiting,
While she within her heart's debating
Could she forsake a wedding ring?

See the girl full-grown now kneeling
Mother there, her vow's recieving
Parents weeping,
New shoes squeaking,
And chestnut strands 'neath black veil a'peeking

Now she's none but God's Alone.

I'm going to be off-line (yes, that means AOL) almost completely for a month or more. Everyone who needs my phone number has it (if you don't, email me promptly!). I hope you all have a truly blessed Advent. I would be eternally grateful for your prayers, and know of my prayers as always!
